Returning to the aquarium after 15 years away …?
In the past I had a 20 gal. community tank with a variety of tetras, and a tank of 45 gallons of cichlids. I was just wandering what changes they need to research. Glass or acylic tank. UGF or bio wheel. I need to reboot a tank community only to return to the swing of it and what requimened for fish?
Acrylics zero, but if you live in zone earthquakes are the way to follow …. undergravel filters are not used much, but they have their pros and cons …. AquaClear biowheelands and I hang on the back of filters – as the two, but to buy AquaClear another if I were to have to get another. Something that is new in recent years is "dry cycling" – You gotta check it out …. make a deposit safe for fish, even before putting them in … no more deaths of fish to keep them as pets …. and while you're doing that ….. potentially have a lot of investigation of what fun would / scoutting fish stores for potential candidates (each time you install a tank I change my mind countless times in the process – I have to admit part of the fun ….) Lets see what else is …. again in the last couple years have started to do strange things to the fish … raise them in all sorts of distorted shapes (eg, Molly ball …. yuck) and even started tattooing them (Sigh … it's a shame, really) so I'm sure his head will spin a bit – but I dig it.
